There is no restart frame on the old job when restarting a job

Yi Chen

 Hello all,

I have to restart a truncated job (caused by disk space exhausted). In the old input file, I added:

 ** OUTPUT REQUESTS1

 *Restart, write, frequency=10.

In the restart input file, I just write two lines:

 *Heading

 *RESTART, READ, STEP=1, INC=92590

 My execution command is :

 ABQ2016 job=JOB_r OLDJOB=JOBOLD USER=VEP INT

Where VEP is UMAT I used.

I thought it would work since the job stopped at 92590 inc and the frequency is 10.

However, when I run the restart job, It shows an error as: There is no restart frame on the old job at step 1, increment 92590.

I also tried the INC=92580, not work.

Is there any problem with my old input file or restart file? How can I know how many restart frames are in old job?

 Thank you,

 Yi Chen

Re: There is no restart frame on the old job when restarting a job

Guo, Yongjin (Y)
Yi Chen,

You can try

*RESTART, READ, STEP=1

to see whether you could use the last available frame. Hope it works.

Best regards,
Yongjin

Hello Yongjin,

 Thank you for your reply.

I have tried this way that didn't specify the last increment.

But it still shows that there is no restart frame on the old job step 1 increment 92590.
where 92590 is the last increment.

 Best,
 Yi
